About HASC Foundation

Hafeez Adeyemi Sickle Cell Foundation (HASF) is non-governmental organization established in 2019 and registered under the Corporate Affairs Commission Incorporated Trustees Act (135482). It was founded by Hafeez Adeyemi who has been through the traumatic challenges of living with sickle cell all his life. And he deemed it necessary to help those who may not be privileged like him, to have reasonable medical attention, care and emotional support.

HASC funds its mission to rid the world of sickle cell anemia disease through a network of pharmacies, thrift stores, healthcare contracts and other strategic partnerships. Generating new, innovative ways of treatment, prevention and advocacy has been the hallmark of our success. We are currently leading a mass testing initiative to help people identify their genotype and treat the people who can’t afford the health care support

Hafeez has been in the entertainment business for over 14 years, and has experienced working on music videos, commercials, TV shows, and films.

Hafeez has shot 2 short films on sickle cell outside Nigeria and was able to tell a story from the point of view of a fighter and he believes it takes someone who battles with the disease to know exactly what to say and how to say it .

He has always hoped to make films that speak reality. He wants the world to hear his voice and pains through his films.

Hafeez has worked with several companies such as a Nigeria/Abuja based production company called Papel Image Tech, Nigerian Television Authority, Abuja, Nigeria, BigBoyz Entertainment, London, Uk and a Privately owned D’Bol show in London. Hafeez has worked in a few countries, which has helped in his experience as a filmmaker.

Due to ignorance, Sickle Cell Warriors suffer extreme pain, sorrow, low self-esteem and stigmatization and many also lack proper and affordable medical care in a disorder that is financially and socially draining.

When an uneducated family has to take care of not one but sometimes up to five children with Sickle Cell Disorder, they can hardly afford basic needs let alone medical needs, so there is need for a proper support system. As we create and implement new programs in communities across Africa, we expand delivery of healthcare and influence over policy with the aim of saving more lives.
